Hide Columns in Bar Chart (request for clarification)

I have checked the forum and I have found it can be done.

But i'm sorry to say that i do not understand the code for making a chart. I've found that the range of selection of chart can be change but i do not know how to do so. Please can anyone explain to me how to get that chart?
