    Building Multiple Axes in chart

    Hi,

I need the support on the following.

I have build up a line chart with 3 KPI's for 4 region for a period of 12 months. I have been able to show the same through the line chart but problem I am facing is that the figures are so close to each other that the lines are over crossing each other and if I show data values it gets really difficult to determine any analysis out of it.

I would like to build seperate axes for each KPI (FA,RF and IR) within the chart so that the trend across 4 region (North, south, east, west) get easily visible seperately. I have attached the sample built file for your reference.

    Look forward to your assistance..

    Regards

You could adjust the existing scale to get a widre spread, 30 - 100.

    Or use vertical panel

I did gave a try to build the vertical panel charts with seperate axis for my data before uploading it to forum but could not succeed. If you could help me build the same for my data or provide me the excel for the peltiertech vertical panel chart solution, it would be really great..!!

That's a pretty comprehensive article, not sure what I can add to it.

What part of it did you not understand?

Why are you unable to proceed? At what point of the article do you get stuck.

From what I can see you have the panels and lines you only need to add the series in order to create the labeling for the panels.

Re: Building Multiple Axes in chart

I have added 3 series to the chart and changed them to xy-scatter, as per the instructions.

All you need do now is apply data labels and link to cell text, as per the instructions.

Re: Building Multiple Axes in chart

    Thanks Andy,

It did worked for me. I have progressed on the same. Worked out file is attached.

I want to show actual values of KPI's (FA,IR & RF) on the 3 lines build and not the plotted values to make the chart more relevant.

    How can this be achieved??

Re: Building Multiple Axes in chart

Again, you need to read the instructions in the article.

Finally it's time to add value labels to the vertical axes. You could add labels to each axis series, then manually change the text of each label, but after about the third label this becomes tiresome. Fortunately there are two well-written, easy to install and use, and free utilities that automate this process: Rob Bovey's Chart Labeler, at http://appspro.com, and John Walkenbach's Chart Tools, at http://j-walk.com. Each one allows you to assign the labels in a worksheet range to the points in a chart series, and even link the chart labels, in case the worksheet cells change. Use one of these utilities to assign the three columns of labels (the purple range, columns K through M) to the three axis series (A-axis, B-axis, and C-axis)
    .

The same technique can be used to label the actual lines with their original values.

As you seem to find the process difficult to replicate you may find it easier to use 3 separate charts and just lay them out to appear like a single chart.
