How to Plot Data Labels on a Chart with a text value instead of a numeric value

[So I've been having this trouble with a chart in Excel for months and just haven't been able to figure it out. It involves a chart that has labels that are supposed to show as change1, change2, change3, ect. plotted along a chart with a date range. If I change the date range to anything but 1/1/12, it causes the data labels to move to the wrong dates, and some of the data labels change to the numeric height value instead of the text value I want to be displayed. This does not happen when I change the end date range though, just the beginning.

Fixed it, I have attached the spreadsheet I now have if anyone has use for it.
