No Hover Value on Area Charts

I was recently upgraded to excel 2010. I'm having issues with excel not displaying y-axis values when I hover over an area chart. I've enabled the proper check boxes (File, Options, Advanced, Chart) and the hover does display element names, but not values. The hover works just fine on all other chart types. Just the area charts don't work. This functionality worked in excel 2003, but not 2010. Seems to be an excel bug, but maybe I'm missing something. Any help is appreciated.

I agree the hover label does not provide value information, only series and point index.
But this is the same behaviour I am seeing in xl2003.

One possible work around is to add the same data and plot as column chart. Remove fill and border formatting and set Column Gap to zero.

Here's a screenshot of the hover working in xl2003. I already tried the column chart with no gaps, but it doesn't look remotely similar to an area chart.

I guess it depends how you have your chart setup. in xl2003 I can get hover labels with and without value detail all within the same chart.

Whilst not an exact match the column work around is not that bad.
