pivot table display/formatting hide fields not being counted

Hi; I am using excel 2010. I have been reading many differnt articles on hiding empty pivot table data but cant seem to get the right results.

I have a table, trying to keep track of time spent on various things. based on weeks

attached is a pick, and example file.

there are 8 categories, for each record time can be put in only 1 category.

When I make the pivot table, I want to show only the categories that have time in them, currently all categories show.

I can see sort of why this is happening, but is there any work around...or maybe pivot table is not the best

    Thx for any suggestions
