    Trendline start point query

    Hi all

I have a question related to trendlines. I have a single data series that is approximately bell shaped and I want to fit a trendline to the falling limb of the data i.e. the right hand half. I have done this by creating a second data series that contains only the points from this half of the dataset and applying a trendline. But because the X-axis for this second data series has to be the same as the first the trendline is carrying on all the way to the left hand edge of the chart, I would like it to start from the first data point of the second data series i.e. from the middle of the bell shape. Is there a way of doing this?

    Many thanks!

    Tim

    Hi Tim,

I don't think there is a way to do this without drawing your own trendline as an independent xy line series.
