I got an interview offer from VOLT and going in tomorrow (2/7) for it. I took an online evaluation test for my excel skills and it asked me a general question that required me to know to use pivot tables, but I missed that part.
I got 90% on the test which is nice, but I want to get a better idea what pivot tables do. And I'd like to know how you guys use it in your work. Seems like something the employer want in potential applicants.. My excel skills aren't advanced since I don't use it everyday for my work, but I hope I can show the employer I'm willing to learn because I am interested in excel. And I do have basic knowledge from school so it's not like they need to teach me about the entire program. I currently work for my parents as accounts receivables, but I don't really use excel too often except on a few occassions. The most complicated thing I had to do was some forcaste modeling for future customer purchases.
The general idea I have is that it you will have a list of raw data and you can say find the sum of total revenue or items purchased for a certain company. That test I took made me more interested in excel and I'd like to get better at it.
