Bar Graph specifying Gradient fill colors

I have a basic Bar Chart(100% Stacked 3D) that i have up to 10 segments.

I am trying to programatically shade each segment into a Gradient fill(top & bottom).

I can manually set the colors, but how can i set what each segment color is by a cell value?

The attached image is what the end result may look like, but i want the colors to be selected by a value from a cell.

    Is this possible?

If not can i select the solid fill color and add a 2nd bar directly under the other with its solid fill colors set also by a cell value?

    Hi CoreyTroy,

You can do this, but your post is a little confusing.

You talk about gradient fill and also about solid fills.

Please check out these tutorials and see if it helps.

This one will show you how to group your stacked bars together:

This one will show you how to make your data points (blocks in the column/bar chart) different colors based on formulas in your spreadsheet:

Each has a detailed step by step tutorial as well as a video tutorial.

Please let me know if this helps.

Re: Bar Graph specifying Gradient fill colors

    Thanks for the reply Steve.

Ultimately i wanted a single Bar graph that is shaded according to values on the same worksheet. There is 2 values per segment, and thus needing a gradient fill to differentiate between one side and the other.

If this was not possible,a 2nd Bar running parallel to the other would do. Then each segment could be filled according to each value.
Bar1 segment 1 a set color, and Bar2 segment 1 a set color also and so on.

As there had been no reply to this initial post, i have been working on a Donut chart instead, and have managed to have one donut inside the other, and programatically color each segment via code, instead of a Bar graph.

I will check out those links you posted.

I am however still stuck on the Filtering item issue here
