    calls per hour table

    Hi,

I have data that looks like this:

    4/3/13 5:40 AM
    4/3/13 6:20 PM
    4/3/13 6:36 PM
    4/4/13 8:46 AM
    4/4/13 8:58 AM
    4/4/13 9:14 AM
    4/4/13 9:24 AM
    4/4/13 10:26 AM
    4/4/13 1:05 PM

I want to create a table/chart/graph that shows the amount of calls per hour per day. I cannot for the life of me do this on my own. I need an assist!

    Hi

The attached should give you a start.

Select the Data column and use the Chart Wizard to create a chart.

Hey Raaaaaaaaavi... I can break it down a little bit...

But first, I want to ask for a clarification on your requirements...

Are you looking for a count of all calls that occurred between 3 and 4 PM each day. Or a count of all calls that occurred between 3 and 4 PM on May 5th... (for example)

What I could recommend doing is setting up an equation that removes the minutes from the call time... This would end up giving you similar data to work with that you could subsequently use in a pivot table.

    Using an equation like:
    =TEXT(A2,"mm-dd-h")
Will remove the minutes, and add a consistent format to the data (you can adjust as necessary, of course)

This should get you 90% of the way there, to a point where I think you'll be able to take it any further as necessary. Let me know if you need more help.

Lol, I think you have one to many A's from my user name.

What I want in the end is a Chart that will show the # of calls I have received in a given month. I want to chart out the time of day (ie: 7am,8am,9am..ect) with the total number of calls. I believe the file the previous user helped with is a great example of what i want to do. I think I just need to take the data and make a Chart out of it. The date does not matter because I'm more interested in the sum of calls added up per day per hour.

    Hope that helps!
