Issues with Pivot Table data displaying 01-01-1900

Hello,

When I create what I believe is a relatively simple pivot table, the data in the "body" of the pivot table is displayed as 01-01-1900 as shown in the image:

The data I am creating the pivot from is as follows:

I would like my pivot table to look like the screenshot below so I can easily total up the values to see the most regular failure:

I am new to pivot tables so maybe I have done something very obvious but any help is apprciated.

Thanks for the quick reply.

That corrects the issue, however is there a way to configure the default to "General" so I don't always have to "right-click one of the dates, choose number format and change the format to General"?
