    Grouping Dates-Pivot Table

I was following a pivot table introductory page and I found the way how to group/ungroup dates. It is demonstrated on the page that how you can group your dates using Pivot Table and display it "vertically". The problem is though I tried it out but couldn't present my dates in "vertical" way. Please Find attached file "Excel Query-01" where I used Pivot Table to Group dates vertically (couldn't succeeded though).
The second sheet "Dates presented vertically" contains the actual way shown on webpage to group dates vertically. Please let me know where I go wrong? Thanks

your dates are separate fields in the source data so you can't group them

if at first you don't succeed try doing it the way your wife told you to

If "separate fields" means separate columns then let me tell you dates are in separate columns on that webpage and still they are grouped. Any advice please?
