I think what you are looking for are waterfall charts. Here are two links on how to create them

    http://chandoo.org/wp/2009/08/10/exc...erfall-charts/

    Or google Waterfall charts excel

Re: i can't believe excel doesn't have this kind of chart !?!?!

    Hello,

a waterfall chart is easily constructed in Excel, but it is not an out of the box chart. It requires a special data layout that is even more stringent than a stock chart. Also, a waterfall chart is actually not one of the most used charts out there. The effort it would take to error-check a badly designed source table is probably a developer's nightmare.

Microsoft tries to get a balance between development effort and actual usage of its Excel features. For the last few years, input from MVPs has been listened to and has been applied to Excel 2013 in many areas, e.g. recommended charts. Since waterfall charts aren't really used all that much, it's small wonder that they have not yet made it into the standard portfolio.

If you want to create one manually, follow Jon Peltier's tutorials. If you don't want to do the hard work all by yourself, buy Jon's add-in. It's worth it.

    cheers, teylyn
