Pivot table is doubling values from Source data

Hi There. Em pretty hopeful I'm missing something basic. Excel is not my forte.

I have source data that is compiled via various formulas from the raw data from survey data.
when I select the compiled data and choose to make a pivot table, some of the values are incorrect. no value should ever be higher than 4 - but some are 5 6 7.

    I don't understand.

it is set to summarize values by "sum". I don't want it to summarize at all. I just want it to straight copy the values from the selected source. how can I do this?
