Date Sort in Pivot Table - Not working properly

Hello my friends, this is my first thread.

I have a column in my excel that has only Dates. Later I created an Pivot Table.
The first colunm in the Pivot Table is the column that has the Dates.

The problem is that when I sort the Dates in the pivot table, the dates are being sorted wrongly like below:

1/2/2001
1/2/2002
1/2/2003
1/2/2005
1/2/2006
1/2/2007
1/2/2008
1/2/2010
1/2/2011
1/2/2012
1/2/2013
1/3/1999
1/3/2000
1/3/2001
1/3/2002
1/3/2003
1/3/2004
1/3/2005
1/3/2006

How can I sort them as real Dates, Like Day, month and year?

Hi I got it, I neede to convert the Dates from text to dates. Many thanks anyway.

Hi and welcome to the forum

The dates that you are basing your PT on, are probably not dates, but text that looks like dates. To test, use =isnumber(cell-ref)...FALSE indicates text.

If they are all text, try this trick...

Highlight the entire range of "dates"
on DATA tab, Data Tools, select Text-to-Columns
select next/next/finish
