    Choosing which chart to display based on a cell's IF statement.

    I'd like to choose which of 2 charts is displayed based on a cell's data. Is this possible?

    Hi Ronden,

    Welcome to the Excel forum!

    This is possible, but it depends on what you mean when you stated which of 2 charts.

    Here is a tutorial and video demonstration on choosing a different chart type:

    If the 2 charts have different data sets, then you may have to use the camera tool.

    Let me know if this helps!

    S=T,
    Your suggestion was a big help (the video really allowed me to see what you had explained in writing!), but alas I don't believe it will benefit me since it appears you can only have one Chart Format, and the format needs of a pie chart and a column chart are incompatible. For instance, I don't want a grid or vertical scale on the pie. But, thanks for the new trick. I learned a lot, and I appreaciate your sharing your knowledge.

    Hi, so glad it helped.

    I know that Chandoo.org/wp did what you are looking for with the Camera tool.

    Look at his blog and search for cameral tool

    Altho Chandoo is a great site (which I previously didn't know about), I didn't find it to be of help with the camera tool. But now that you told me it exists (I didn't know about it!), I've played with it and it's a is VERY COOL tool! I'm sure I'll be using it. Thanks again!
