I have an excel table showing sells YOY for the month of April. I have entered the dates as 4/1/2005, 4/1/2006 etc. When I put this data into a chart the date displays as Jan-05, Jan-06 etc. The cells are formatted as dates.
Any idea as to why?

I've no problem with that, see the attached file.
Notice my main language is not English.

I see the bug.
As a work around set the axis to be Text rather than Date or Automatic
Actually NOT a bug.
It is grouping entries by year and displaying the first date for each year, rather than the date you provided. The setting of axis to Text still stands as the solution.
