Exploded Pie Chart - Dealing with Zero Values

I've been looking for a solution for this for quite a while now, no success however.

In an exploded pie chart, the zero values are shown as a thin line, like to indicate epsence of value or something. How can I eliminate that, as well as countries with 0 values, to not be included in the legend?

I have a preset exploded pie chart in an automatically generated HR report. The report takes data from other reports and puts it in a table:

    FRA 0
    GER 4
    GRE 0
    HUN 0
    ITA 2
    NL 1
    POL 0
    POR 0
    SWE 2
    UK 3

The figures is '# of leavers by country', so zero values are very frequent.

The exploded pie chart is created from this data, and it comes out like that:

    pie chart.png

As ou can see there are a few thin stripes indicating zeros.
So, I would like only the countries with values bigger than zero to appear in the legend and in the pie chart. Thank you for your help.

Re: Exploded Pie Chart - Dealing with Zero Values

    Hello,

If you replace the zero values with #N/A then the chart will ignore these values. You can use the formula =NA() to achieve this as well which is a useful trick with any charts.

Thank you, that removes the 'zero slice' from the pie.

What about the legend? I still have unnecessary countries in the legend.

In this case you may need a more sophisticated approach, so I would suggest you explore Andy's suggestions (ie filtering the list, or creating dynamic ranges as described on Andy's website). My approach is a quick solution for removing data points only.

    Kind regards,
    Simon.
