Hi:
When Excel create a stock chart, it automatically formats the x-axis by default to create spaces on days/times when there is no trading. For example on weekends and holidays, the chart will show a couple of spaces where the missing days exist. On any other type of chart, these spaces are not put in there by default, because excel does not format for weekends / holidays as it does specifically with stock charts. This becomes an issue in chart analysis when you place a line chart overlay because some data from the line chart does not correlate exactly because the x-axis's do not line up exactly.
Could anyone tell me how to format a stock chart to remove the default formatting and remove these spaces?
Conversely how to add spaces any other type of chart so that there are spaces in the data on dates there is no line entry?
Here is an excel file and a screen shot of how the graph is presenting on my computer so you can see the problem.
TIA
