    Having Trouble With PivotChart With Multiple Sheets

    I'm glad there is a great forum like this on the internet.

    I essentially been working on a stock investment spreadsheet that I can use to track everything.
    I have two sheets that are completely the same, except one has data for investment buy/sell transactions that I make and the other sheet is for re-invested dividends/distributions.

    If I do PivotChart on just a single sheet I can get a table that looks like I want, but I need both sheets to get a complete look at everything. And I just can't get things to look the right way.

    It might get a little confusing what I'm trying to accomplish, so I've included a screenshot of my data.

    Essentially the important data that I'm interested in is the securities I buy, the current value of the securities and the structure (tax structure) of it.

    The ideal pivotchart would spit out something like this...
    **dots are for structure
    .................... TFSA.......RRSP
    TDB911 .........123.00 ......456.00
    TDB952 ......... 789.00 ....101112.00


    Essentially, it would break down the totals of each security by tax structure. It works perfectly when I do one sheet, but when I try to do multiple sheets I just can't get what I want.

    Am I missing something? Is this the way I should approach?

    Does anyone have any thoughts on this? A big thing for me is whether I'm approaching this the wrong way by having two separate sheets.

    How about a sample with the data set out how you currently have it and a drawing of what your wanting (or existing chat with some text details as w]to what needs to be added. this would give members a better change to help you out.

    Okay, here's a sample. The sheets "Transactions" and "Dividends" are the data.
    Summary is basically what I'd like it to look like (very basic, but it's essentially what I'm looking for).

    The idea is that I hold investment in various tax structures. I just want the pivotchart to sum up each investment "security" within each tax "structure".

    If I run the pivot on just the Transactions sheet, I can get what I want, but I also need the Dividend sheet data also added in too. And I've struggled to figure it out.

    I did a work around for this to get what I wanted. Though I'm still interested in learning how to do it properly with pivotcharts though.

    I ended up using sumifs() on each page to get the data I wanted summed up, and just added the values up on a summary page.

    First I ran the macro to collect all data on the consolidated sheet.

    I couldn't find the values your counting, so I took probably other values to show you.
