Stacked plots in excel with gaps

I am using excel 2010.

I would like to make a stacked plot capable of showing gaps in a line graph/x, y scatter. So if data is missing there is literally a gap in the line instead of interpolation.

I have used the peltiertech site up to the point of secondary axes but I can't get that part to work using those instructions. Does anyone know if I can:

A - Do the same a different way in 2010 version and

B - Create gaps where data is missing

only way to have gaps is for the cells to be truely empty. If they contain formula then using NA() will remove the data marker only.

Edit.
If the chart is a stacked sub-chart then NA() and empty cell will be treated as zero and the data maker will still be present

You would need to use a non stacked chart type and build a table of charting data add values to give the appearance of stacking.
You would then need code (or manually) clear those cells with #N/A content where a gap is required.
