Editing a Pivot Table to include a new column of data and filter options

    Hi,

I have a pivot table that is using data from a source file with 4-5 categories. I want to use three of those categories and include a new category on the right of the current pivot table. Can someone tell me what needs to be done. I am using excel 2003. I know excel 2010 has a slicer option but this doesn't. I want 4 colums that I can choose to display via the drop down.

    Welcome to the forum.
In excel 2003 you can manage it by:
    1. In your data set add another column at the end lets say its column 6
    2. Cut this last column and do insert cut cells before the last column of the data used
    3. Refresh your pivot table and you should see what you want to see.
If this doesnt work for you add a sample file and i will be happy to show you what i meant
    Best Regards/VKS
