Plot the line of a function and also scatter dots on the same chart

Hi all,
I am relatively new to Excel. I am trying to plot the function y=0.000643688x³-0.065413x²+1.88017x-9.17115. This is a line I want to have in my chart. Additionally I want to be able to enter onto the same chart a set of data values. (I am interested in visualising the position of these points compared to line - are they above or below line? ). How can I go about doing this?

I hope what I've said makes sense.

When I do it, have one table set up to calculate the function

In another table, put the desired x,y data points

Select one of the tables -> insert scatter plot -> format as desired -> add the other data series (either through the select data dialog or by copy/paste) -> format the 2nd series as desired.

Thanks for the reply. I've managed to do the first bit and plot the curve thanks! How do I then get the other data points to be plotted just as (unjoined up) points on the same chart...?

After adding the second data series, right click on it, select the option to format, then choose the desired options from the format data series dialog (line -- none, marker -- as desired).
