How to change Pivot Table default?

Hi, I'm using Pivot Table, and I need to drag down (to the value area) many fields. Each of these chosen fields automatically appears as "count of" and with some 10 decimal places.. Where I need "sum of" with let's say 2 decimal places. Does anyone know how to change this?

There is only 1 value for the given month in column A.

So the sum of this data is the same as cell A2.

In the box where you choise sum, there is also a button with the celformat.

If you click that button you can change the format.

Re: How to change Pivot Table default?

Well, I know how to change it each time (As you said: I should left-click "value field settings.." and also click the "number" button). However I still much prefer to see where I change the defaults...

How are your general setting for a worksheet (also 10 decimal).

If so you can change that in the default settings.

I didn't found (default) value setting for a pivot table (only).

Ok thanks.. Maybe in Excel 2013? Because it's really annoying PV/PChart by default assume we are interested in "sum of". As to the decimal thing, I'll check out my application/workbook defaults..

Re: How to change Pivot Table default?

You can't change the default functions. If the values in your field are all numeric (no text or blanks) you will get a sum, otherwise you get a count. If you need to change many fields at once, you will need code.

Re: How to change Pivot Table default?

It should default to whatever number format the Normal cell style in the workbook is set to use - that's usually General, but it sounds as though yours is set to a large number of DP for some reason.

Re: How to change Pivot Table default?

You must be right. See, when I type =1/3 I automatically get 0.33333.. if I change the cell from "general" to "number" then the default of 2 DP appears. Otherwise when it's set as "general", and apparently this is another default, then many DP are being added..
