Creating Dynamic chart with multiple value streams

    Good Day,

I am having a very hard time visualizing how to create a chart. I have a set of data attached. Basically, I want to be able to chart monthly trends. I'd like to pull a drop down menu, choose a physician name and then have a two charts automatically populate... one that shows MSE % and Dispo% side by side (Jan-Aug) and the other chart showing MSE time and Dispo time side by side (Jan-Aug).

I tried to do this with a pivot table, but I can't figure out how to get the Value field to just show the actual value and not a calculation....

    I'd appreciate any help.

No, but thank you. What I'm trying to do is to be able to select a physician from a drop down list. The chart that would populate would show Jan-Aug on the X axis, and percentage on Y axis (1st chart) (2nd chart would show months for x axis and times for y-axis). So, with each different physician, two new charts would pop up.... Does that make sense?

Re: Creating Dynamic chart with multiple value streams

In the file I send you the only it's not doing is you have to change the charts individually....and you can do that in either Pivot tables worksheet and it will flow to the Worksheets (either, Percent or Time). Or, you can go directly to the chart and use the filter on the chart to pick which ever Dr. you want and it updates the chart....you can move the charts to either the Raw data or Pivot Table worksheets....if you want it to actually regenerate a brand new chart each time then a VBA solution will probably have to be done...HTH

That is exactly what I wanted, but on this spreadsheet, when I select a different physician, a new graph does not populate. I am getting an error stating that a formula or more has an invalid reference.

Two of us have uploaded worksheets with charts. Which one are you referring to?

Regardless, if you made edits what were they? Did you move either the data or the locations of formulae?

Re: Creating Chart from drop down list

sorry. I was referring to the charts from jeffrey brown. I actually did not make any edits, the errors came up on opening the spreadsheets. it looks like there are cells in his spreadsheet that are referring to deleted worksheets, so the links are brokwn.

Your charts, newdoverman, are great, however, I don't think they allow me to choose a different physician from a drop down menu....

The drop-down menu is in I2 and you can select any physician that you want and all data is updated accordingly.
