    Preventing new calculated field from calculating right away

    Hi,

    I need to make a large amount of calculated fields for a project. The problem is that every time I enter a new one, it actually calculates the formula, which is taking over a minute. I have a very large number of fields to enter, which makes this very tedious.
    Is there a way to NOT have the field calculate once it's entered, but only on command/data refresh? Basically I would like to enter all the formulas, and only once that's finished have them all calculate.

    Thanks,

    Phillip

    Excel 2007 => formula => countoptions => manual

    Hi oeldere,

    I just realized my post wasn't clear- I'm referring to calculated fields in DAX- PowerPivot 2013.
