How to add right axis that look exactly the same as the left axis??

    Hi,

I would like to add a vertical axis to the right of my plot that looks exactly the same as the left axis.
The only way I found to do this is to add a secondary axis. However this axis is based on a data series and it does not match the left axis.

How can I make the left and right vertical axis look the same.
NOte: I do not want to hard code anything parameter with fix values.

Not saying this is the ONLY way to do it, but it's the only way I've ever done it. Not something that I need to do often..

By creating a duplicate set of data that will auto update, and then hiding it, you can set that one to the secondary axis so they both update the to the same scale and there is no need to hard code range values.

    Thank you for you reply.

I tried what you proposed and it is working.
The only think is that I have many series on the graph so I have to duplicate all of them.

DO you think it would be easier to use VBA to create the graph and the axis the way I want?

    Again thank you!

In order to have a secondary axis the chart must have at least 2 data series.

If you have more than 1 series on the primary axis then the series on the secondary, if only there to provided secondary axis, should contain the minimum and maximum data point from all series on primary axis. This should ensure the automatic setting match.

I think it depends on your skill level with VBA. Only you would know if you are familiar enough with VBA to write the code to do it or not.

Part of the reason I say it that way is that I see no real problem with graphing multiple series in duplicate to get two automatic axes that match up. The only real problem I see is that Excel cannot plot more than 255 data series in a chart (http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/ex...495.aspx?CTT=1). Unless you are talking about 100+ unique data series that you need to duplicate, then I don't see any problem with duplicating series. It seems to me that any graph with that many data series is going to be hard to read, so it seems unlikely that you would have close to that many data series.
