    Pivot table won't use headings

    Can anyone explain to me why the pivot table in the attachment does not use the dates in row A as labels please? I have spent hours trying to work this out but am completely stumped!

    Thanks in advance!!!

    PS I'm using Excel 2010.

    Hi tuph,

    Your data isn't formatted correctly for a Pivot.

    You need to convert this to 2 Columns - 1 for the Dates & another for the Figures.

    I've attached an example.

    Thanks for your suggestion Boffin but this is a shared workbook and the data needs to be formatted with dates as column headings. A sample of my full worksheet is attached. How can I summarise this by month?
