    Dynamic chart for rotating months

    Hi all,

I'm trying to make have a dynamic chart, that covers the last 12 months, but the data is in two columns. For example, when I add February's info I would the chart to plot it. I thought I could do it with a drop down box, but can't seem to make it work.

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks!!!

This might suit your needs. The data that the chart is based on (Rolling 12 Months) can be hidden and the chart will update as data is added to the table on the left.

Re: Dynamic chart for rotating months

    HI,

Thank you very much for the chart! Unfortunately my issue is that the data is in two separate columns, which is the better way to do this type of work but I have 10+ of these tables and was hoping not to have to move it all. I tried using a Pivot Table without any luck.

    Thanks again!

Excel will interpret your columns of data as being separate data series and plot them as such. In order to plot the 12 month period that you want, something like the example of the data extraction that I gave you will have to be figured out.

Thanks! I am trying to come up with some vba code that will determine the number of blank cells in the first column, and then sum the appropriate numbers.

    Cheers,

Maybe a count of the non-blanks in 2014 subtracted from 12 and the difference counted up from the bottom of 2013 might be easier.....just a guess.

Yeah that's what I'm thinking as well.
