Charting Date and Time data to show trends

I have a bunch of data that is reported at a given location (8 total locations) and the data is formatted with date in one column and time in 24 hour formatt HH:MM. What I am trying to show is the activity in 24 hour (day) cycles to see the flows and peak times. Here is what a sample of the data looks like:
    D_T1241 T_T1241
    10/6/2013 02:13
    10/6/2013 02:13
    10/6/2013 02:17
    10/6/2013 02:39
    10/6/2013 02:44
    10/6/2013 02:46
    10/6/2013 02:49
    10/6/2013 02:52
    10/6/2013 02:53
    10/6/2013 02:56
    10/6/2013 02:58
    10/6/2013 03:07
    10/6/2013 03:07
    10/6/2013 03:09
    10/6/2013 03:10
    10/6/2013 03:11
    10/6/2013 03:30
    10/6/2013 03:32
    10/6/2013 03:39
    10/6/2013 03:41
    10/6/2013 03:47
    10/6/2013 03:48
    10/6/2013 03:55
    10/6/2013 04:12
    10/6/2013 04:14
    10/6/2013 04:16
    10/6/2013 04:16

I have two weeks of data for each of 8 separate locations - any help on how to graph this to make sense??? Thanks for your help!

Re: Charting Date and Time data to show trends

So, you want to count the activity over a consolidated 24-hour day for the given period? You need to decide what increments of time across the day you want to count in (i.e. hourly, half-hourly {=48 counts}, every 15 minutes {=96 counts}). It is relatively easy to set up those increments going down a column, starting with zero, and then in adjacent columns you can have a COUNTIFS formula to count the number of events for a particular site that fall within the time-range. You would have 8 such columns, from which you could graph them as different series - either a bar chart or XY-graph with 0 to 24 hours going across.

    Hope this helps.

    Pete
