Returning multiple lines from a table

    Hello,

I have a list of projects and a list of milestones and I want to extract every milestone for a project one by one. I have found a way to do this for one project but as there is not a fixed number of milestones, it's proving tricky to do it for multiple projects as I don't know how to tell the formula to stop looking at the Project 1 and move on to Project 3 for example.

This is a very very simplified version of my table (there are other columns inbetween and many more projects)

    Project 1 Milestone 1
    Project 1 Milestone 2
    Project 1 Milestone 3
    Project 1 Milestone 4
    Project 1 Milestone 5
    Project 2 Milestone 1
    Project 2 Milestone 2
    Project 2 Milestone 3
    Project 2 Milestone 4
    Project 2 Milestone 5
    Project 2 Milestone 6
    Project 2 Milestone 7
    Project 3 Milestone 1
    Project 3 Milestone 2
    Any advice?

Attach a sample workbook. Make sure there is just enough data to make it clear what is needed. Include a BEFORE sheet and an AFTER sheet in the workbook if needed to show the process you're trying to complete or automate. Make sure your desired results are demonstrated, mock them up manually if needed. Remember to desensitize the data.

Re: Returning multiple lines from a table

Sorry, yes I appreciate it's not very clear.

I've attached a basic sample. Essentially I have a data dump and I want to extract a list of all the milestones associated with a project (and ultimately also forecast dates but can worry about that another time). This is made complex by the fact that not every project is going to have the same number of milestones.

So for example with the spreadsheet attached, I may want a separate spreadsheet that shows me every milestone associated with projects 1 and 3 in a list.

    Hope that's clearer
