Enter formula result from one cell into a COUNTIF formula in another cell. Help please!

Hi, I am trying to use the text/result of one formula ("porridge") in a COUNTIF formula to save me having to type the word "Porridge". The COUNTIF formula currently looks like this: =COUNTIF($D$12:$CA$12,"*porridge"). I have many of these formulas to do and don't want to have to go into each individual formula to write the word I want when it's already the result of another formula I've done.

I have attached a picture to explain further. Capture.jpg

I hope you can help! Please bear in mind that I have no idea to write code or anything so if you're kind enough to answer, it would be greatly appreciated if you could put it in the simplest terms possible! Thanks in advance.

    Try this...

    =COUNTIF($D$12:$CA$12,"*"&C72)
