COUNTIFS criteria to specify unique values

Hello everyone,

I need a way to specify unique values as a criteria within a COUNTIFS function. Specifically I have two columns of data, the left being a list of names, the right groups they belong in. On another sheet I need to count the number of people within one of the groups without counting duplicates. I need to do this without using macros (It is for work, and our enterprise network does not allow macros).

*MASTER is the sheet containing the data, I column contains the group from which I need to count, G column contains the names

Is there a way to specify to count unique values as a criteria this way, or are there any other options available to me without using macros/VBA?
