Formula to get negative to positive value and positive to zero

I am having trouble with the formula,

I am working on a sheet where i need to calculate LWP ( leave without pay ). Now i need a formula where opening balance + Leave credited - Leave availed = some value ( positive or negative).

If its negative

2 + 2 - 5 = -1 ( hence leave without pay is 1 so i want it positive 1 not negative)

if the person has not taken leave

2+2-0= 4 ( hence leave without pay is 0, hence i need it 0)

Could you please suggest any formula where i can get this in LWP column.

I don't understand your calculations. How can 2+2-5=1? How can 2+2-0=4?
