Not sure I understand your problem?
The formula and the "required" match in rows 12, 13 and 14, and your formula is testing for "A" in the row, row 13 has A's, so the answer is A. Can you explain to me why you think it should not be A?

There are 5 'A' in row 13. That means the student is absent in 2 subjects for first and second semester and absent in 1 semester loosing 7.5 points in column 'an'. So the output should be 19.5 instead of 'A'.
Now I changed the formula and solved the problem.
Hope this clear your doubt of row 13 output.
