Formula for automatic date update?

Good morning!

I have an excel form that's gets filled out 10 times a day, every day the week. Is there a formula I can put in the date cell that will automatically fill in the date everytime I open up my form?

=today() will get you the current date in whatever cell you want and will change if you open up the file the next day... However, there is no formula that will paste that value in if you wanted to keep it there at that value. You would need a macro to do that.

Thank you gillyr7! Yeah I was looking for a way to enter the date in the cell today, save it then if I have to go back to the form I know what the original date was. I appreciate your feedback!!
