Yes, it will work.
Select the range containing the blank cells
Open Find/Replace (CTRL+H)
Leave the Find box blank (empty)
Type a zero into the Replace box
Click Replace All

There is no "code" for blank cells but I think this procedure may work for you. In your case, use zero instead of a formula.

It depends on what the OP means by "blank cells." This procedure will work if a cell contains text and that text is the null string. An example would be typing a single quote ' into a cell.
However, if what is meant is "an empty cell" or "cell with no data and no formula" this will not work.
