Automatically Subtract Payments from number

Hello,

I have compiled an asset list and on that list I have items on which the company still owes money and the monthly payment. How do I automatically subtract that payment from the amount owed on say the 15th of each month, and have it update the new amount owed so on the following month it subtracts from the new amount rather than the old... I keep getting circular references... just can't wrap my head around it right now

Thanks

PS

Right now the format is:

A1: Amount Owed B1: Monthly Payment
A2: $$$ B2:$$$

Thanks,

Chris

Hi and welcome to the forum

1st, please note that forum rules require you to wait at least a day before bumping. Also, many members focus on threads with 0 posts, your thread now has 3 (excluding mine)

2nd, to best describe or illustrate your problem you would be better off attaching a dummy workbook. The workbook should contain the same structure and some dummy data of the same type as the type you have in your real workbook - so, if a cell contains numbers & letters in this format abc-123 then that should be reflected in the dummy workbook.

To attach a file to your post,
click advanced (next to quick post),
scroll down until you see "manage file",
click that and select "add files" (top right corner).
click "select files" find your file, click "open" click "upload" click 'done" bottom right. click "submit reply"

Once the upload is completed the file name will appear below the input boxes in this window.
You can then close the window to return to the new post screen.
1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)
2. If your question is resolved, mark it SOLVED using the thread tools
3. Click on the star if you think someone helped you

Regards

You need to have a starting amount owed then you would need to count how many 15ths of the months have passed since some starting date multiplied by the monthly payment subtracted from the amount owed.
