Lookup Horizontally & Vertically

Good afternoon,

I need a formula that will perform a look up to pull me in information that has certain criteria downwards and across

Example

Column A = Dates
Column B1, C1, D1 Etc = Name Criteria
Column B2:Z300 = Value

So what I want is something like

=INDEX($B$2:$Z$300,MATCH("01/06/14"+0,$A$2:$A$300,0),MATCH("Criteria",$B$1:$Z$1,0))
