Find and copy value/text ifs

Hello!
I have a sheet with dates and i would like a formula/function to show values if they match the dates. I'm thinking a formula something like this:

=IF(A1=C1:C5;A2;"")

I have tried to write it as above but I only get #VALUE! error. I have also tries to write it like this:

=IF(A1=(C1;C2;C3;C4;C5);A2;"")

But then Excel tells me that I have entered to many arguments.

So, basically I want the formula to present a cell value if a certain value can be found within a range of other cells.

That was FAST Thanks a lot!

It work exactly as I want to. Althogh, for the cells that don't matches there is gap with empty cell. If there a way avoid that and tp compress the list? As for A2, A3 and onward...
