Check most frequent number in 1 column that has 4 digits number

    Hi there,

Is there any other more advance way to check the most frequent numbers for 4D and 3D number. As per attach file...

    Example 4D number :

3389 and 8393 - both consider as same number

    Example 3D number :

    9378 and 6873 - 378 consider as same number

Re: Need help on excel formula.

Irregardless of the MOD comment, I do not understand a 4D and 3D number?
As to understanding why you have two obvious numbers in conflict I feel that you need to submit the macro, or that part of it that compares numbers within your range. My guess is that you have chosen to compare up to 3 values (I'll allow you 4) but you haven't compared them by place value, HTU!

I apologise that I can do no more than give a presumed insight.

Ok. I understand that now, but ...

OK! It seems to me that the RULEs need to be more concise, more compact. Then I would not have transgressed.
I understood that the Forum welcomed assistance for others.

With the greatest of respect (even had I known the RULEs exactly) I believed that I understood that I could relate closely to the author and that he might have gained from my experience. Well he now has to await. My apologies.

..I think DIPLOMACY has been overlooked. Yes, RULEs are rules, but everyone knows that they are made to be broken.
This is your comment in your negative rep that you gave me. Thanks for that.

My comment for that is that:

I feel very honored to accept negative rep from you, because I care and try to apply the rules for this forum!

For what it's worth, I would have reacted exactly the same way you did, Fotis, in which case it would have been me getting the negative rep.

@ BrainCob - perhaps where you come from, rules are meant to be broken, but here - they are abided and respected by all members...as a member of this forum, the same is expected from you

    @BrianCob
These rules are here to keep it nice and tidy. Many newcomers stumble on that rule (including me). Don't make a big deal out of it and things will go back to normal.

Ok, back to the actual problem posted by OP. It's out of my league but I'm just curious now, is this one of those problems where you could apply reg exp?
<----- If you were helped by my posts you can say "Thank you" by clicking the star symbol down to the left

If the problem is solved, finish of the thread by clicking SOLVED under Thread Tools
I don't wish to leave you with no answer, yet I sometimes miss posts. If you feel I forgot you, remind me with a PM or just bump the thread.

Re: Check most frequent number in 1 column that has 4 digits number

    Hi FDibbins,

I want a faster way to check the most frequent 4D direct or indirect number (1234 or 4321 or 4132). And for the most frequent 3D number - 567 (5678 or 1756 or 3675).

There are 345 column with 4D number each in the column.

    Example : The most frequent 4D is 3171, 7131, 7113 & 7311

Example : The most frequent 3D is 137 - (2137,3171,1735,7131,9173 and so on...)

    Regards,
    Merson
