    Increment count if not duplicate

I am trying to make a function in Excel 2013 that increments the count if there is not a duplicate, but rather repeats the number if there is a duplicate, and skipps if there is a blank entry. I have Google this with no luck, anyways here is my example; any help would be appreciated.

    B .......................C
    1 City ...................Number
    2 Alabaster ................1
    3 Alabaster ................1
    4 Alabaster ................1
    5 Albertville ................2
    6 Albertville ................2
    7
    8 Athens ...............3
    9 Auburn ..................4
    10 Dothan ..................5
    11 Dothan ..................5
    12 Mobile ...................6

The result is you get an list with unique values?

If so, you can use pivot table for that.
Notice my main language is not English.

I appreciate it, if you reply on my solution.

You better add an excel file, without confidential information on the excel forum.

    Try in C2:
    Formula: copy to clipboard
Please Login or Register to view this content.

and copy down. If does not work as expected, do as oeldere wrote - attach a file. See in our forum rules:
Post a WORKBOOK. Nobody wants to type data from a picture or paste text from your post into a spreadsheet as a prelude to helping. To attach a file, push the button with the paperclip (or scroll down to the Manage Attachments button), browse to the required file, and then push the Upload button.
    Best Regards,

    Kaper
