please add the expected (desired) result in your sheet and post it again.

please also explain the definition of seasonal.

Please also the formula you used and didn't work (forcast)

    Hi,

What values would you calculate manually? If you can tell us that and explain your calculation then we can no doubt encapsulate the logic in a formula.

In short Excel needs some algorithm to work with. In any case and as stated you only mention 'last year data' implying this is the only (or at least most significant) factor. More information is needed.

    Re: Calls volume Forecasting

Column G has Forecast formula which i have used but not giving me desired result
Column I has expected result or should be close to it. (already forecasted upto 20 weeks )

Seasonal factor means, any spike or dip in volume should be consider for future forecast,

...you need to explain how you have calculated your expected results.

    Re: Calls volume Forecasting

Apart from 2011, there is no seasonality, to speak of. As for the general trends - year on year the call number is falling. A polynomial fit would suggest that you'll be out of business in 1 -2 years, with calls in year 4 (2015), being about 10% of those in the first year!! A linear fit gives you a more graceful decline, with 2015 calls being about 45% of those in the first year. Tak your pick (or change your business model!!).

See the sheet for pretty (meaningless) graphs...

    Re: Calls volume Forecasting

Many Thanks Glenn Kennedy, for graphical view of forecast, There is definetely seen decrease in volume year by year , but still I have to do forecast for 2015 and 2016 how much it would be,

@ Richard Buttrey,I have not calculated expected result , it was done by previous employee who has forecast this value, but now unfortunetely he has left the organisation and I actually dont know what was the logic behind this,

    Hi

I am looking for a forecast model that can be used for a 80 FTE call centre to predict monthly call volumes.
