Cool Conditional Formatting or Functions

Hi Everyone,

I am using the 2013 version of Excel and have some minor work to do and i am done with my project work.

I have a list of future dates in one entire column (F1). I need to format the cells to automatically highlight dates when there is 6 months to the date. Eg Column F1 reflects 01 January 2015 and i need it to highlighted once i reach 01 July 2014. This formula needs to be applied to the whole column with the future dates.

I am an absolute noob in formulas, functions and conditional formatting. Someone please help me out.

Thanks so much.

Re: Conditional Formatting or Functions

Hi and welcome to the forum

1. highlight the range you want to apply the conditional formatting to
2. on the home tab, styles, select CF
3. select new rule, select use formula
4. enter =F1<=EDATE(TODAY(),6) format fill as needed

If you have a lot of these to do, it will be better if you put =TODAY() in its own cell (say A1) and then reference it...
=A1<=EDATE($A$1,6)
1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)
2. If your question is resolved, mark it SOLVED using the thread tools
3. Click on the star if you think someone helped you
