Need help with auto-populate list schedule details to calendar, please.

Hi! I'm new here. I'm desperate for help. I've already asked the 'excel' expert at our help desk and she's left clueless.

I'm building a marketing activity calendar based on mashups of calendars I've found online. It is attached.

I want to be able to enter a marketing activity into the 'Activities' list below a calendar and have that 'Description' content auto-populate into the corresponding date on the calendar. An added bonus would be for the content on the calendar to be highlighted in the color which identifies its Activity category.

For example, (see tab 1, January): at the bottom of the sheet (below the calendar) I have entered a marketing activity into the 'Activities' list (see J43). I want that activity (Launch Email) to auto-populate into the corresponding date on the calendar (Jan. 22) and be highlighted in the aqua color that indicates it’s an email. (You’ll notice I’ve created a dropdown for the Activity column showing the marketing activity categories.)

I’d also like that marketing activity to auto-populate into the Summary list on the Summary tab. Then, I’d like a sort button in the Activity header (on the Summary tab) that will sort the rows by marketing activity (i.e. email, newsletter, outreach, presentation, etc.). I’d also like a sort button on the Date header to sort the rows by date.

I’ve seen all this functionality in other excel wksts but would like it all in one (the CommCalendar wkst). Hoping you can help!

The only thing I can suggest is changing the calendar set up to accommodate date calculations and index and match based on criteria. I have a sample of this I just uploaded this morning for another reason, if you want to look at the table and the calendar calculations.

The last part would be conditional formatting based on text value results in the calendar. I use a DAX table for the data and then reference the table columns to find the data I'm looking for: =IFERROR(UPPER(IF($B$8="","",INDEX(VACA[Name],MATCH(0,IF((VACA[StartDate]>=$B$8)*(VACA[EndDate]<=$B$9)*(VACA[AcAive]="A"),COUNTIF($F$5:$F5,VACA[Name]),""),0)))),"")
