Modify Cell Background Color based on cell content

Hello,

I am working on developing QR Codes using some MATLAB code and it would be really convenient if I could create an excel program which changed the background color of a cell containing a 1 to black and a cell containing a 0 to white.

Thank you so much for your help! I searched through the forums as best I could but I didn't find anything super useful.

Background colors can be changed based on cell contents using Conditional Formatting.

sounds simplistic but you can do this with conditional formatting.

select the area that contains your numbers and then select conditional formatting
I then used Format all Cells based on their values
then chose 2-color scale
Selected minimum to Number and 0 and chose the colour
then did the same for the maximum and set that to 1
