Hi - I'm new to the forum and this is my first post. I know very little about conditional formatting but I've been trying to set up a formula to highlight cells dependant whether a date has been entered into any one of a number of subsequent cells. I've modified a formula that I got from another spreadsheet but this only does part of the job.
This is the scenario:
I've got a spreadsheet for my project the contains six milestones (Start, IDC, IFR, RETCOM, IFA, AFC), each of which have Planned, Forecast and Actual date columns.
Any empty cell in any 'Actual' column should show red if the corresponding milestone 'Forecast' date is overdue (using today's date as the overdue indicator). If there is no date in the 'Forecast' cell then the comparison should be on the 'Planned' cell.
So far I have gotten this part to work correctly.
What I need it to do now is this:
If any date is found to be overdue, a check should be made on all the subsequent 'Actual' cells within the row. If any of these 'Actual' cells contains a date then the preceding 'Actual' cell should not be highlighted. For example:
The 'Forecast' date for milestone IFR is overdue but there is a date in the 'Actual' cell for the subsequent RETCOM milestone. This means that the IFR 'Actual' cell should not show red.
I would be grateful if anyone can help with this. (Tried to attach my excel spreadsheet with the coding I have already but I'm getting an error!)
