Complex Time Calculation

Hi all,

I have a situation where we have a snooker tournament in progress. As per the attached spreadsheet, I'd like to be able to estimate the finish time and hours to go before the end of the competition.

I have a start time
I have the number of games to be played total for the day
I have the outstanding number of games to be played
We have three tables to play the games on

Can anyone help?

thanks Rajansettu but you have missed the end game...

If we start at 09:30 and the average game length is 40 minutes. that means 3 games every 40 minutes...
So 48 games should take 40 minutes * 16 (3 tables)

it's okay guys, I have worked it out by just talking through the situation with you both!

There is no time logic Punnam, a game may go for 30 minutes, or a game may go for 65 minutes... And there is no time limit on each game.

But, once a game has been completed, and the score is entered in the relevant place, the "Games Completed" amount increases accordingly, and the "Games To Finish" reduces.

It's a case of working out the average time spent playing each game, then working out how much time is required to play out the remaining games at that average.

I expect that the timings would only be near to accurate once a multiple of three games have been played, eg:

time started 09:30
games played 3
time now 10:20
average per game = 50mins

Time started 09:30
games played 5
time now 11:08
average per game = 23mins
