Cool Index Match from two columns and Remove duplicates,

Hi everyone this is my first post here. I sort of have a problem

Column A Project names ex; A1 Chocolate Factory, A2 Hat Factory A3 Chocolate Factory, (with lots of duplicates)
    Column B Stage of project ex; B1 Stage 2, B2 Stage 1, B3 Stage 2.

What i already have succeded in doing is to erease all duplicates from Column A. And entered these into Column C.

Now however, i would like to remove duplicates into column C, but with included Stage of project, and preferably merge into one Cell.

So for Column C in this case i would Get
    C1, Chocolate Factory Stage 2
    C2, Hat factory Stage 1

I know that i Could Merge Column A with B and then remove the duplicates, but i need this to work without further steps.

    Regards from Sweden

Re: Index Match from two columns and Remove duplicates,

It helps if you upload a sample workbook with the desired solution so we can try and replicate it. With the different factories, are all of the duplicates at the same stage or could there be a Chocolate Factory entry with a stage 1 as well?
Despite the high cost of living, it remains very popular.

Re: Index Match from two columns and Remove duplicates,

Hi thanks, Yes sorry if i was unclear. There can be different stages within one factory.

Attached are 2 files, Book1 contains the data, where as book1 report is a report based on book1.

What i want is for Book1Report column A to show for instance A2, Chokladfabriken etapp 1, and A3 chokladfabriken etapp 2.

So in basic, Column A and Column B from The data file -> merged into Column A in the report file, but with no duplicates.

    CheerS!

Re: Index Match from two columns and Remove duplicates,

Hi Vikas, thanks for the effort, although it wasnt exactly what i was looking for, please take a look on the file named book1rapport attached, i have written in the file what i hope to achive, in this attachment, not the previous one

Its hard to explain, But i wish to merge the projectname together with a stage (named etapp in the file), and to only show distinct values. Eg
    Orangeriet Etapp 1
    Orangeriet Etapp 2
    etc,
    (in the same cell)

Hope you understand what i mean once you openn the file,

    Thank you very much

Re: Index Match from two columns and Remove duplicates,

Are you open to using VBA to accomplish this?

Re: Index Match from two columns and Remove duplicates,

I was hoping to achieve this without VBA, maybe by including [A2&","&B2] somehow.

Re: Index Match from two columns and Remove duplicates,

Without VBA I believe you will at least need to sort the data first by project name as condition #1 and etapp as condition #2

Then you can use the formulas in the attached workbook. They are array formulas so press ctrl + shift + enter if you are putting them into a different place. My solutions are in Green highlight.

Re: Index Match from two columns and Remove duplicates,

Thank you for the offer but no need for that - as far as I know you only pay for the commercial forums. A reputation point is good enough for me. Have a great day.
