Hi Everyone
I have a formula which works fine in one spreadsheet but isn't working in another
=IF(D8="",A8,VLOOKUP(D8,G_FACTS,4,FALSE))
The formula works if there is a value within the VLOOKUP table however if D8 is blank it is not returning A8 as the value and instead I get #NA
Any ideas what I've done wrong on this occasion?

Then that means D8 is not blank.
What results do you get with these formulas:
=LEN(D8)
=CODE(D8)
Biff
Microsoft MVP Excel

Logically, D8 is not blank. Does it have a formula in it? Is it text? Could it have one or more spaces in it rather than being blank?
