    Red face Help filtering specific columns from a worksheet

    Hi,

    I was hoping someone could help me to figure out how to filter specific data from my worksheet.

    I am trying to tabulate specific chunks in a summary table from my worksheet. So for instance for a table summarising visitor numbers of different categories I would like to tabulate how many days a specific visitor attended a facility. I.e. how many days were school visits, general public etc. I'm assuming it would use "Sumif" or "Countif" from other forums.

    So if I had a list as below and I wanted to filter how many visitors attended from each category what kind of formula would I use? I hope this makes sense. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

    2 School
    5 Public
    2 Public
    5 Commercial
    2 School
    3 Commercial
    2 Public

    one way is a sumif but since you mentioned filtering, I did it using a pivot table and in another area used sumif for two options.
